Hampton Summer Projects and Other News

You will be seeing a lot of construction taking place at Hampton this summer. We will be totally replacing a large portion of our roof that was in desperate need of repair. You'll see construction crews on our roof starting soon after school gets out.

 

We're also having some major renovations done to improve building safety and security. Starting immediately after school gets out you will see construction crews working on a controlled entrance project. This will redesign the main entrance of our building. The main entrance will still be at the same door but will now be ADA accessible. There will be an inner vestibule added that will direct visitors immediately into what will become the new main office. The new main office will be located in what is currently the superintendent's office. The space will now include the reception area, superintendent's office, the bookkeeper's office, and the dean's office. All of this will contribute to a more controlled entry into our building and ensure our students and staff have an additional layer of safety and security (we will still have building security personnel as well).

 

Also, as a part of this project we will expand our staff restroom, currently only accessible from the staff lounge, making it accessible from the hallway. It will be expanded, making it ADA accessible and available when needed for our nurse as well as families during school events. Our staff lounge will also have some updates that are long overdue.

 

Lastly, what was formerly a computer lab, and currently being used as our dean's office, will be converted into a conference room with projection system to be available for school board meetings, PTA/Booster Club meetings, and other general conference room needs.

 

The target date of completion for all of this is August 5th (Yes, the Friday before we return to school).  We'll cross our fingers on that:)

 

This summer, if you need to visit our building, you will need to use the northeast door (by the flagpole).
