Hello, Hampton families!
We hope you've had a great first few months of school and are ready for Fall Break. The building will be closed from October 7th through October 14th due to Fall Break and Columbus/Indigenous Peoples' Day. School will resume on Tuesday, October 15th.
Over our break we will have the playground blacktop resurfaced. This will remove the many cracks on the pavement and will give it a fresh, clean look. Unfortunately, this will mean the the blacktop and playground basketball court will be closed over break.
In other exciting news, starting on October 21st we will have a new staff member at Hampton. We will be welcoming a therapy dog! I'd love to share the name, picture, and breed of the dog, but the organization that trains the dog does not provide any of this information until the official training week which Dr. Klipsch will be attending the week of October 14th. A hypoallergenic dog was requested.
The dog will be under the care of Dr. Klipsch. The dog will visit classrooms as well as provide support in small groups and individual settings. Students and staff will treat the dog as a staff member and s/he will be taught specific rules so that support can be provided in a safe and fun environment.
